One of the Philippines’ leading banks has approached us with three main areas in which they have sought our help – approval workflows design, business requirements description, databases and processes revision.

Security Bank Corporation (SBC) is one of the Philippines’ leading universal banks serving retail, commercial, corporate and institutional clients. They have approached us with three main areas in which they have sought our help.

  • Approval Workflows Design
  • Business Requirements Description
  • Databases and Processes Revision

Approval Workflows Design

We have created new process maps for all the bank’s products, including credit cards, car loans, mortgages, business loans and others. The new process shared a uniform design across the products, which will make maintenance of the processes much easier for the bank.

The new workflow can take an advantage of fully automatable decision engines but can also accommodate current bank’s needs of manual processes to enable a fluid shift from fully manual to fully automated. The new process is flexible for changes which allows for a fast market adaptation and fast setup by the bank’s Risk department.

Business Requirements Description

To obtain the dreamed-of new loan origination system on the market, we have created a 40+ paged document which describes in a great detail the needs of the bank to all potential vendors. The document even describes individual user interfaces and data types to be used in the new LOS. This allowed our client to get very detailed offers and pick the best vendor.

Databases and Process Revision

We have revised the entire approval process with all its external data sources in use and came up with concrete and actionable takeaways. By analyzing hit rates, approval rates and correlations we suggested removing 8 external data sources, using 2 for strict KO, and moving 4 of them to scoring.
